Jordan Mailata responds to Derrick Gunn’s report, calls it ‘crazy’

Just about 24 hours removed from Derrick Gunn’s scathing comments on Jalen Hurts, Jordan Mailata hopped on 94WIP to discuss the rumors.

In case you missed it, Gunn shared some pretty damning rumors during his postgame show Sunday night, telling viewers that people within the Eagles organization are frustrated with Hurts and that it’s “Carson Wentz part two.” Anyone with eyes could tell you “Carson Wentz part two” is a stretch, but here’s what Mailata had to say about the whole thing.

The comments from Gunn aren’t the main issue here, it’s that someone in the team facility is leaking this information. Everything should be kept in house, especially stuff like this. And it’s fair to ask whether this is a brewing issue among multiple people, or just one bad apple. It’s impossible to say with the context we have right now.

In all honesty, it doesn’t bother me at all if anyone is frustrated with Hurts. I’m frustrated with Hurts, I’m frustrated with Kevin Patullo, I’m frustrated with AJ Brown — everything about this offense has been frustrating this year. Nevertheless, gotta keep this stuff close to the chest. There are things that happen behind closed doors that we simply don’t need to know about. This is one of them.

Selfishly, I want to know everything, just like you, I’m sure. Doesn’t mean I actually need to know it. In the end, I just want to keep watching the Eagles win ball games. That’s all that matters when it’s all said and done.
