DeVonta Smith sounds off on the Eagles offense
The Eagles are 8–2 and sitting on top of the NFC, but you don’t need a stats sheet to know the offense has been a mess.
If you’ve watched even a single drive this season, you’ve seen it. Play calling that feels like a group project where nobody did the reading.
While the entire city obsesses over AJ Brown quotes and Jalen Hurts narratives the media invents, DeVonta Smith used his mic time to do something rare in this sport by taking accountability without throwing anyone under the bus.
DeVonta Smith has officially had enough.
“Everybody got to look themselves in the mirror. You have to check yourself. We all can go out there. We all can be better. It’s not just one individual. It’s a collective group.”
Honestly, DeVonta Smith has every right to be the one saying it. That’s leadership and exactly what this offense has been missing.
He’s been the most reliable wide receiver on the roster this year and doesn’t complain about targets, volume, or attention. He just shows up, wins routes, and does his job while the rest of the offense plays like they’re stuck in preseason mode.
HUMBLE: #Eagles star DeVonta Smith does not care about all the other big receiver deals, saying HE HAS made LIFE-CHANGING money, which is plenty for him.

The Eagles offense has been flat out bad…
Here’s where the Eagles rank:
- 16th in scoring
- 28th in total offense
- 29th on third downs at 33.9 percent
I’m not a math major but that’s horrendous. Especially for a group with Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith, and a line loaded with money. Smith didn’t dodge the real problem, either.
“You just have to lock in. Sometimes we had different snap counts, sometimes we jump off offside. You have to listen to the whole play call. Listen to what the snap count is. Make sure you’re tuned into everything.”
Eagles at Cowboys: Here’s what everyone is talking about heading into Sunday >>
The offense keeps shooting itself in the foot because guys aren’t paying attention. There are too many penalties, missed assignments and bad communication. It’s sloppy football on repeat.
Enough with the finger-pointing, anonymous quotes, fake locker room drama, and made-up controversies. Every Eagles player who’s been asked about “frustrations” with Jalen Hurts has denied it. The only people pushing that storyline are the ones collecting clicks off the chaos.
DeVonta Smith’s message was simple
Stop talking about the problem, fix the problem.
The Eagles defense has been elite. The offense needs to match the energy. Dallas is next, and if there is ever a time for the offense to wake up, it is on Sunday in a game that will define the NFC race.
Clean up the penalties. Stop sleepwalking through first halves. Get Smitty the football. And go embarrass the Cowboys in their own building.
