Jason Garrett casually lies about a 1993 John Madden turkey leg like we wouldn’t notice
Jason Garrett kicked off his own weird subplot during yesterday’s Thanksgiving football, which was otherwise a full-blown John Madden tribute tour. Every broadcast rightfully celebrated Madden — and then Garrett decided to drop a completely made-up story about a turkey leg he allegedly got from him in 1993.
Truly bizarre stuff. According to Garrett, Madden handed him a turkey leg back in the early 90s, he threw it in his freezer, and then years later — after moving — he somehow still had the John Madden turkey leg sitting in there. Sure, man. Whatever you say.
Jason Garrett making up stuff on national TV. WWE level fabrication
This story is either a complete lie, or Jason Garrett somehow kept a full turkey leg in his freezer for years without realizing it. Both options are ridiculous, and honestly, I think less of him either way.
A two-second Google search tells you everything you need to know: Garrett was a rookie QB in 1993 for the Cowboys. They lost their Thanksgiving game, and he didn’t even play. So the idea that John Madden handed the backup QB of the losing team a commemorative turkey leg? Yeah, not exactly believable.
Get Chris Collinsworth back in the booth. I’m already over the Jason Garrett experience.

It was the 1994 Thanksgiving game. Garret was starting QB for the Cowboys that day. He beat Brett Favre and the Packers and threw for over 300 yards. Do better. So much better.
Garrett said ‘93, and if you believe he kept a turkey leg in his freezer for 15 years, idk what to tell you
