Source: Darius Slay is eyeing a return to Philly following release from Pittsburgh

According to sources close to The Liberty Line and Darius Slay, the former Eagles corner is eyeing a return to Philly.

Darius Slay potentially returning to Philly

To be clear, our source didn’t give us a whole lot beyond “he talked to people close to Slay” and “he’s coming back.” That’s it. And before you ask, no, we’re not real journalists — if that’s what you came here for, my bad. Wrong website, buddy.

Do I like the idea of bringing Darius Slay back? Not really.

He’s been brutal this season — allowing a 126.7 passer rating, dead last among qualifying corners. And I hate when the Eagles drag in aging vets who clearly aren’t what they used to be. They’ve already tried that a handful of times this year. Two retired, and the third — Brandon Graham — has been a non-factor.

Even if I’m not thrilled about it, I get why Howie would do it. He’s been dying to add a veteran corner mid-season, trading for Jakorian Bennett and signing Jaire Alexander before he abruptly retired. Slay at least gives them some competency opposite Quinyon Mitchell.

Honestly, he can’t be worse than Adoree Jackson or Kelee Ringo. So… silver linings.

I fully expect this signing to be made official within 24–48 hours, and I’d bet he suits up next Monday night in Los Angeles.
