Eagles Road Trip Guide: Los Angeles – Week 14

If you’re planning to make the trip to Los Angeles to watch the Eagles take on the Chargers Week 14, but have no idea what to do when you get there, you’ve come to the right place.

This is the comprehensive Eagles Road Trip Guide: Kansas City edition.

Of course, if you want to skip the planning and let the professionals handle everything, you‘d be silly not to book with Phans of Philly. They handle flights, hotels, game tickets, and even have an all-inclusive tailgate. Plus, they always put on an event or two to keep the vibes rolling through the weekend into gameday.

We’ve made the trip to Los Angeles two years running to watch the Rams, and both years were a fantastic time. This year, the Birds take on the Chargers, who are one of the more entertaining teams in the AFC year in and year out. Plus, a trip to sunny California in December certainly isn’t the worst thing that’s ever happened.

Sure, LA is fine, but it’s the tailgate Phans puts on that’s the star of the show. A ton of different food vendors and bars dotting the parking lot make it a fan-favorite year after year. It’s more like a VIP section than a tailgate, but full of psychotic Eagles fans.

Fortunately for you, I’ve got the inside scoop on the places to eat, drink, and prepare for a full-scale invasion of the Socialist Republic of California. Let’s dive right into it.

Britannia – Downtown Santa Monica

Britannia feels like a legit British pub that somehow woke up a block from the Pacific and decided to stay. It is laid back, a little scruffy in a good way, and perfect for posting up with a pint while whatever game is on plays in the background. And, of course, it’s an Eagles bar, so you’ll feel right at home thousands of miles from the city of Philadelphia.

Santa Monica Whaler – Ocean Avenue

The Whaler is straight beach energy from the second you walk in. The place is loud, fun, and packed with people who all seem to be on their third drink. You tell yourself you are having one before heading somewhere else, and suddenly it is two hours later, and you are shouting your life story over the DJ like everyone else.

Big Dean’s Ocean Front Cafe – Santa Monica Pier

Big Dean’s is classic pier eating and drinking. Nothing fancy, just burgers, beers, and the sound of the ocean right there while you sit on the patio. It is the kind of place you hit for a quick stop, then realize the sun is setting, and you have somehow been there all afternoon.

The Georgian Room – Ocean Avenue

The Georgian Room feels like walking into a secret from another era. It is dark, classy, and gives off that old Hollywood vibe where everything seems a little more important than it probably is. The cocktails are strong, the room looks great, and it is a perfect spot when you want the night to feel like it has a plot.

Sushi Roku – Ocean Avenue

Sushi Roku is the spot you pick when you want something that actually feels a little elevated without going full white tablecloth. The sushi is sharp, the cocktails hit right, and the whole room has that smooth, coastal LA vibe that makes you think you are doing something slightly above your normal pay grade. It is one of those places where you sit down for a quick dinner, and suddenly you are ordering another round because the whole night feels too good to rush.

Even if you’ve already booked your tickets, hotel, and travel, you’ve still gotta tailgate before the Eagles game, right? That’s what I thought. You can still book tailgate only or tailgate and game ticket options with Phans, too.

Very real and legitimate journalist. I don't see a loss on the schedule.
