America Last World Cup: USMNT not playing in Philadelphia, Donald Trump says soccer should be called football

The 2026 World Cup draw went down today, and the United States Men’s National Team wound up with an incredibly favorable grouping. The boys are in Group D alongside Australia, Paraguay, and the winner of UEFA Playoff C. Türkiye, Romania, Slovakia, and Kosovo will be competing for the right to join the group.

However, despite the quality draw for the US, it’s becoming increasingly clear that this is, unfortunately, an America-Last event. From scheduling gripes to a ludicrous statement from President Donald J. Trump, we here at The Liberty Line are less than thrilled with the proceedings thus far.

How the USMNT isn’t guaranteed a World Cup game in Philadelphia in the US’s 250th year makes absolutely zero sense to me. As it stands, they’ll be playing in Seattle and Inglewood, CA. Oh yeah, when I think of America, I definitely think of those two places.

Meanwhile, here’s the list of potential group stage games in Philadelphia for the upcoming World Cup:

• June 14: Germany vs. Curaçao OR Ecuador vs. Ivory Coast
• June 19: Brazil vs. Haiti OR Morocco vs. Scotland
• June 22: France vs. Bolivia/Suriname/Iraq OR Norway vs. Senegal
• June 25: Ecuador vs. Germany OR Curaçao vs. Ivory Coast

Plus, based on how the schedule shakes out, there’s virtually no chance they play in Philadelphia at all. This is the birthplace of our country, and it’s right around our 250th birthday. To say I’m disappointed would be a vast understatement.

And if that wasn’t already bad enough, our allegedly America First president follows this up with an absolute slap in the face. He found it prudent to pander to the Euro trash in attendance and say that America should start calling soccer “football” and change the name of American football to something else.

I mean, what the fuck, Donny? I thought you were America First, bro. Now you pull this shit? On the international stage? We already secured the World Cup, you don’t have to pander anymore.

I’m also completely sick of the soccer vs. football debate. The term soccer originated in England. Short for Association Football. They brought that to the states. We kicked the shit out of them. Soccer stuck, and that’s that.

So, not only is FIFA disrespecting this country by not having our team play in its very birthplace, but our president, Donald Trump, is bending the knee to the very European troglodytes that sought to keep us under their rule. Disgusting. Absolutely disgusting.
