Chris Simms Jalen Hurts Eagles Offense Problem

Shocker: Chris Simms crawls out of his hole for a victory lap, says Jalen Hurts is the ONLY Problem with the Eagles

Honestly, I was waiting for this one to show up on my timeline. It was inevitable. Whenever the Eagles hit turbulence, you can set your watch to Chris Simms popping out of nowhere to remind everyone that he has been anti-Hurts since the day the kid got drafted.

Right on cue, on the latest episode of This Is Football, everyone’s favorite bad-take factory decided to declare that Jalen Hurts is “the problem” with the Eagles offense.

Not part of the problem. Not struggling alongside a dozen other issues. According to Simms, Hurts is the only problem.

Here is the clip for those who enjoy self-inflicted pain. Personally, I find it to be motivation ahead of tonight’s Monday Night Football matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Chris Simms: “The blame deserves to be on the quarterback. That’s it.”

This is what Chris Simms does. It is his brand. He has a long, well-documented history of disrespecting Jalen Hurts. The same Jalen Hurts who brought the city a Super Bowl championship. The same quarterback who won Super Bowl MVP.

The same leader who has dragged this franchise out of chaos multiple times and never once engaged in the petty criticism thrown his way.

Relentless Jalen Hurts Slander: Former career backup continues his agenda against Eagles QB

But go off, Chris Simms… I guess

Tell everyone again that the quarterback with a 103.9 passer rating is the sole problem with the Eagles. Tell them the guy with 2,514 yards, 19 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions in 12 games is holding the offense back.

Tell them the quarterback who has added 329 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns to give him 27 total touchdowns on the season is the issue.

  • Not the injured offensive line.
  • Not Lane Johnson specifically missing multiple games.
  • Not a first-year OC who has been overmatched for two straight months.
  • Not the complete lack of rhythm or identity on offense.

Nope. It is just Jalen Hurts. The whole thing falls apart because of him.

This is why nobody takes Chris Simms seriously in Philadelphia. You cannot be this committed to a pre-written narrative and still expect people to treat your analysis as anything more than background noise. He has been waiting for a slump just so he could pretend he has been right the whole time.

Chris Simms is not right. He has never been right.

And he looks ridiculous pretending the Eagles’ problems start and end with the franchise quarterback who has carried this organization on his back for three years.

You fucking dumbass.

  1. Eagle teammates and coaches have watched game film together for years since Jalen has been our QB 1 and it’s obvious Jalen struggles to read defenses. If his first read is open, he does great. If he needs to go through his progressions, he struggles and panics then leaves the pocket. He takes too many sacks because he is slow to process the development of the play. Every OC he has had in the pros needs to simplify the offense for him. KP nor Sirianni are the issue which is why players are rumbling about the QB and not the OC since they see game film of what’s happening. Even if the O-Line was completely healthy and found the fountain of youth, the NFL has figured that they can put 8 in the box and dare Jalen to pass. Barkley will never have another great year if Jalen can’t allow the coaches to expand the offense. Too many national analysts have watched tape and have said the same thing. It’s our loyal Eagle fans who are afraid of opening their eyes and accept what the nation is seeing along with my favorite Eagle, Seth Joyner.

I hope I’m wrong as the Eagles are my team and I have always felt that Jalen is a true class act, but the eye test doesn’t fail unless you are unfortunately blind.

    Fly Eagles Fly!!!
