Joe Giglio, 94.1 WIP mocked on ESPN segment for Jalen Hurts hate, embarrass Philadelphia media on national stage
Philadelphia sports radio has been in shambles since the Eagles’ heartbreaking 22-19 loss to the LA Chargers off a Jalen Hurts interception. Of course, Joe Giglio of WIP went on the air to declare a quarterback problem in Philadelphia after an admittedly abysmal night. Of course, ESPN picked it up and mocked the ridiculousness of the entire situation.
Joe Giglio got himself and his radio station the attention they so desperately crave with his Jalen Hurts take:
Watching @GetUpESPN this morning and our local media got the attention they were looking for. The entire panel reacted with laughter, admitting that THESE “are the voices of authority” in Philadelphia.#FlyEaglesFly pic.twitter.com/mkyOBDMCZM

Look, I get that Jalen Hurts was absolutely horrific in this game. Five turnovers for a guy who characteristically protects the football at the expense of explosive plays shocked me into silence (after letting out a primal scream heard throughout Fishtown and the surrounding neighborhoods).
But the complete lack of nuance, something Giglio and the other chuckleheads at 94.1 WIP have used to butter their bread for years, is infuriating to anyone with an IQ above 40.
He’s been bad. But so has the entire offense. The 2024 Eagles would have run the ball constantly, killed the clock, and kicked the game-winning field goal. Instead, numbnuts Kevin Patullo abandoned the best rushing attack we’ve seen this season, putting the Eagles in a third-and-long situation (shocker).
The Eagles even called a timeout to call the perfect play and decided on… a quick screen to DeVonta Smith with *checks notes* zero blockers. Wow. What a fucking genius decision. I swear to god Patullo has meatballs for brains.
Jalen Hurts fucked up, I’ll admit that. But there’s a point he’s literally fighting against the current of the shittiest offensive playcalling we’ve seen him deal with. He tried to put the team on his back down the stretch, and it bit him in the ass. That wouldn’t have ever happened if this team could run the football.
Honestly, thanks to this Jason Ashworth guy for pulling the clip so I have something to write about today, but he’s no better than the WIP folks. His tweet reads: “The entire panel reacted with laughter, admitting that THESE ‘are the voices of authority’ in Philadelphia.”
Where’s the laughter? I’ll take his word for it, but nothing pisses me off more than the video not containing everything said in the tweet. Did it happen? Probably. I don’t have the time to figure that out.
Maybe it’s not that big a deal, but I contain a baseline level of interminable rage that only becomes worse after an Eagles loss, especially as bad as this one.

How is it some how 5 play callers neglect the middle of the field? Or is it the quarterback is woefully inept at trimming certain plays.
