LISTEN: Commanders radio has full-blown meltdown over Eagles 2-point play
It’s been a long year for the Commanders and their fans. Coming off a surprise NFC Championship appearance last season, expectations were sky-high heading into 2025.
They didn’t just miss those expectations, they completely face-planted. Washington reverted right back to what it’s always been: a terrible football team. And somehow, the worst part hasn’t even been the on-field product. It’s been the nonstop whining from their fanbase.
That bitching hit a peak Saturday night when the Eagles beat them 29-18 in D.C., clinching the division in the process. Late in the game, the Birds went for two to turn it into a three-possession lead. Instead of explaining the obvious logic behind the call, Washington’s radio broadcast — along with their resident crybaby head coach, Dan Quinn — decided to completely lose the plot.
Rather than informing listeners why the Eagles went for two, they cried for mercy and complained about it for a solid ten minutes.
Truly embarrassing stuff here from the Commanders broadcast
This entire thread is worth a listen if you’ve got the time. It’s a masterclass in brain-dead commentary. The announcers are genuinely confused about how their players could get kicked out or fined for starting a fight with Tyler Steen, and even suggest they shouldn’t have been on the field at all to defend a two-point attempt. It doesn’t pass the smell test in any universe.
And honestly? I’m happy to see the Commanders fall apart. That fanbase doesn’t deserve a damn thing. Some truths in the NFL are eternal, and Washington being a complete dumpster fire is one of them.
