Kevin Patullo Eagles Passing Coach Offensive Coordinator Jalen Hurts

How is Kevin Patullo still employed by the Philadelphia Eagles?

The horrors of Kevin Patullo and the Philadelphia Eagles offense shone bright under the lights of The Linc on Sunday as the Birds’ season ended with a 23-19 Wild Card loss to the San Francisco 49ers.

While the topic has been discussed several times over the past 48 hours, it really felt like the offense spent most of the night trying to solve a puzzle with half the pieces either missing or not being used in a way that would have been much more efficient.

At the end of the night, Kevin Patullo reminded us what we all hoped would change in the playoffs with the Eagles. He showed us yet again that he truly could not live up to the responsibilities of running an NFL offense.

The final play of the game is still burned into my eyes. Before the ball was spiked, Jalen Hurts and Nick Sirianni stood there with Patullo, dumbfounded as the play was called. Instead of speaking up, the offense basically ran four go-routes, as Robert Saleh and the 49ers defense sat in a predictable cover four.

Yet again, we were proven right. Kevin Patullo and the Eagles’ offense showed the entire NFL that they are the most predictable unit in the entire league, and when their season was on the line, they would yet again run one of the most generic plays imaginable, praying that this time would be different.

This is what Kevin Patullo and the Eagles Offense Did…lol

Kevin Patullo headlines as Bucks County golf sim’s newest target after brutal season

It wasn’t. If you want further evidence, the Eagles totaled 36 yards in the third quarter, so this wasn’t just one bad play or drive; it’s the same identity crisis they have been dealing with since Week 1 of the regular season.

Obviously, the Eagles have decisions to make, and they would be better off making them sooner rather than later. There’s a ton of unrest right now,w but I think everyone is in agreement that Kevin Patullo cannot return to the coaching staff.

Which makes me wonder how Kevin Patullo is still employed.

It’s Tuesday. We are nearly 48-hours removed from Wild Card Sunday. The Chargers have already parted ways with their offensive coordinator, Greg Roman. Before that, we saw eight head coaches lose their jobs.

If this is true, KP looks even worse…

I mean, seriously, what are we even doing? The time for change is now, and the only reason I can come up with as to why Kevin Patullo is still employed is that he will remain within the organization in some capacity, which the Eagles will announce once they land their new OC.

Who knows? Maybe the fix is easier than we realize…

The Eagles have the defense, quarterback, and talent across the depth chart to easily compete for another Super Bowl next season. I understand that it almost feels too simple, but what they are really missing is a modernized offensive playbook.

That is why the Mike McDaniel idea is going to come up fast. Miami fired him after a 7-10 season. If you believe head coaches are more about culture and program-building than pure play-calling, then McDaniel sliding into an OC role is at least a conversation worth having.

He is creative. He builds offenses that threaten defenses horizontally and vertically. He is basically the opposite of “everyone run straight, hope something happens.”

The Eagles desperately need that opposite.

We need action from Howie Roseman and Lurie directly…

I’m sorry, but I really do believe that Nick Sirianni is too close to the situation to navigate this successfully. I’m not saying that Nick needs to go, but Kevin Patullo is too close to him personally for him to pull the cord quickly and effectively.

Fire Patullo. Bring in an offensive mind with actual juice who can build a system that makes life easier for Jalen Hurts instead of asking him to be perfect on every third down.

The roster is good enough, but the product that we just watched for an entire NFL season was blatantly not.

UPDATE: KEVIN PATULLO IS FIRED

Kevin Patullo is going to be fired, but is that enough to fix the Eagles on offense?
