Joe DeCamara goes off the deep end over the Eagles offensive coordinator search

As one of my colleagues put it best, this Eagles offensive coordinator search is “giving me aids.” I wouldn’t go that far, but the frustration is real. Not so much with how the Philadelphia Eagles are handling the search, but with how the media is losing its collective mind over it.

Would I have loved for the Eagles to just agree to terms with Mike McDaniel? Of course. That would have been clean, easy, and exciting. Clearly he wanted to go back to California and try to fix Justin Herbert. Good luck with that. McDaniel didn’t want the job, and at some point the fanbase needs to accept reality and move the hell on.

McDaniel is a sharp offensive mind. No argument there. But passing up a roster loaded with weapons and a legitimate Super Bowl window in Philadelphia to coach in Los Angeles is still a questionable choice. The Lombardi Trophy is not exactly floating around SoFi Stadium.

Then we get to the real circus.

Eagles OC Search Update: Philly is the only team with a head coach still without an OC

Joe DeCamara absolutely went off the deep end this week, floating the idea that offensive coordinator candidates are supposedly scared to come to Philly.

The reason? Fans egged Kevin Patullo’s house.

Let’s be crystal clear. Egging someone’s house is stupid, unacceptable, and criminal behavior. No one is defending that. But using it as some kind of boogeyman excuse for why coaches would avoid Philadelphia is loser behavior.

It’s soft. Plain and simple.

For DeCamara to get on his platform and side with reports suggesting candidates are afraid of Eagles fans is embarrassing. This is the NFL. This is Philadelphia. Pressure comes with the job. If you’re scared of noise, you’re in the wrong profession.

And honestly, it’s not surprising that DeCamara’s true colors are shining through right now.

This is what frustrates people about WIP. Every show follows the same tired formula. One former player. One cohost who panics and acts like the sky is falling. No nuance. No alternative perspective. Just fear porn and engagement farming on repeat.

Here at The Liberty Line, we fight. We fight for the fans. We fight for the team. And we fight to actually say what people are thinking instead of cowering behind lazy narratives. Philadelphia isn’t scared. The Eagles aren’t scared.

If a coach is afraid of this market, that’s not an Eagles problem. That’s a them problem.
