Eagles hire Jack Fritz doppelganger Parks Frazier as new quarterbacks coach
I had to do a double take when I saw who the Philadelphia Eagles hired to be their new quarterbacks coach. I could’ve sworn it was Jack Fritz, which to be honest, I would have gotten behind 100%.
Unfortunately, it was not the only bearable host at 94WIP, it was just Parks Frazier, the Eagles former passing game coordinator.

What Frazier’s New Role Actually Means for the Eagles
Last season wasn’t a disaster for Hurts statistically. The numbers looked fine on the surface: solid passer rating, low interception total, respectable touchdown count. But anyone who watched the Eagles weekly knows the offense never felt smooth.
Hurts held the ball too long. The timing looked off. The offense stalled in big moments. The completion percentage dipped. The sacks piled up.
That’s where Frazier comes in.
As quarterbacks coach, his job shifts from drawing up passing concepts to fixing the details that actually make those concepts work. We’re talking about:
- Footwork
- Drop-backs
- Faster reads
- Cleaner progression through routes
- Quicker release
It’s less about play design and more about mechanics. Less about the whiteboard, more about the fundamentals.
A Big Bet on Internal Growth
Frazier has never been a full-time position coach before, which makes this promotion interesting. The Eagles reportedly interviewed outside candidates but ultimately decided to trust someone already in the building.
That signals one of two things. Either they believe last year’s issues were fixable with refinement, or they believe continuity matters more than starting over.
Hurts will now be working under his sixth quarterbacks coach as a pro. At some point, the revolving door has to stop. The Eagles are clearly hoping Frazier can be the stabilizing presence that tightens up the small things and unlocks a more efficient version of their franchise quarterback.
With a new offensive coordinator in place and tweaks across the staff, this isn’t a full rebuild — it’s a recalibration.
And Frazier’s job is simple on paper: clean up the details, speed up the operation, and make sure the Eagles offense actually looks as good as it’s supposed to be.
If that happens, this promotion will look smart fast. If it doesn’t, the spotlight won’t be small.
