WATCH: No better place in the world to be than in the USA Hockey locker room after defeating Canada
There was no better place in the world to be than in the USA Hockey locker room after defeating Canada to win their first gold medal since the Miracle way back in 1980. This was 46 years in the making, and the boys had “Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue” by Toby Keith blasting on the aux.
USA Hockey Locker Room Following Gold Medal Win:
Olympic gold medal. Toby Keith. A bunch of hockey players who just made history screaming every word together. That is not a vibe you can manufacture. That is earned.
If the Toby Keith singalong wasn’t enough, President Donald Trump called the locker room through Kash Patel, who was there celebrating with the team in person.
Trump invited the entire Team USA roster to the State of the Union on Tuesday night and said he would arrange transportation for everybody.
Whether you’re political or not, the President of the United States calling the locker room after a gold medal win to personally invite the team to Washington is a pretty good punctuation mark on an already historic day.
These guys are getting the full American hero treatment and every bit of it is deserved.
Have a day, fellas. You are American legends.
