Zach Ertz plans to play a 14th NFL season and is expected to be cleared right around Week 1
Zach Ertz is not done yet. The three-time Pro Bowl tight end is planning to play a 14th NFL season and is expected to be cleared right around Week 1 after tearing his ACL last year. He is two months into rehab and apparently the comeback is very much on.
The man has had a career. Fifth all-time in catches among tight ends. Eighth all-time in yards. And even at this stage of his career he put up 50 catches for 504 yards and four touchdowns in 13 games in 2025 before the injury ended his season. Those are legitimate numbers, not a guy hanging around collecting paychecks.

The ACL at 34 is obviously a real obstacle and there is no guarantee he comes back at the same level. But Ertz has shown throughout his career that he is not someone who cuts corners on preparation and the timeline to be cleared around Week 1 suggests the rehab is going well.
For Eagles fans, Ertz will always be one of the all-time greats in franchise history. Whatever he does next and wherever he lands, it will be worth paying attention to. The guy is still producing at an elite level when healthy and apparently has no interest in walking away.
Year 14. Let’s see it.
