Super Bowl Champ Jahan Dotson is heading to Atlanta on a two-year, $15 million deal

Jahan Dotson officially agreed to a two-year, $15 million deal with the Atlanta Falcons on Monday, worth up to $17 million with $10 million fully guaranteed.

Eagles legend Jahan Dotson heads to Atlanta

Dotson headed to free agency after the Eagles declined his fifth-year option and now he gets a real opportunity to show what he can do as a featured piece of an offense rather than an afterthought.

The numbers in Philadelphia look underwhelming on the surface. 37 catches, 478 yards, one touchdown in 34 games as an Eagle but context matters.

Dotson was the third or fourth option on an offense that had AJ Brown, DeVonta Smith, Dallas Goedert, Saquon Barkley, and a dual-threat Jalen Hurts taking touches. Nobody was eating behind that group.

The fact that he was even on the field says something.

And then there was the Super Bowl.

Second and eleven in the first quarter. Jalen Hurts found Jahan Dotson. He made the catch and was ruled down at the goal line. From that moment on you knew the Eagles were not losing that football game.

It was one of those plays that gets lost in the avalanche of highlights from that night but anyone watching knew what it meant in real time.

$15 million over two years in Atlanta is a real contract. It is an opportunity to actually be someone’s guy. Crazy that Jahan Dotson is still only 25 years old. The Eagles could not find the reps to give him. The Falcons get an absolute LEGEND.

Cheers to Jahan Dotson. Best of luck in Atlanta. He earned it.
