Sure: Eagles bring back Grant Calcaterra on 1-year deal
The Eagles are running it back with Grant Calcaterra on a one-year deal. Not really the tight-end signing people were hoping to have announced, this is what we’ve got.
I’d say I thought Grant Calcaterra would be gone, but I didn’t even think about him once this offseason:

Calcaterra is entering his fifth year in Philadelphia. He has 42 total catches and still cannot block. Not really a stud fans were clamoring to have back.
The Eagles drafted him in the sixth round back in 2022 as a flyer. That’s totally fine. Late-round picks are a part of Howie Roseman’s draft process.
That being said, Calcaterra has mostly just existed on the roster. He’s had moments, I suppose, but we’re talking about a player who has never looked like a consistent offensive contributor and still hasn’t carved out a real role in the offense like some hoped he would.
I totally get that he’s not meant to be the starting TE. The team’s replacement for Dallas Goedert is around the corner. But you’d think you’d want your backup TE to be the best blocker of the two if you had to pick.
Maybe the staff loves him in the building. Maybe he’s great in meetings. Maybe he blocks his tail off in practice. That stuff matters, but at some point, that has to show up on the field.
In the end, it doesn’t matter what I say. Can’t Blockaterra is here to stay.
