Eagles legend Boston Scott, AKA The Giant Killer, retires from the NFL

The Eagles are saying goodbye to one of the most random, yet undeniable legends this franchise has ever had.

Boston Scott officially announced his retirement from the NFL, bringing an end to a six-year career that never quite followed the script, but still left a mark that Birds fans won’t forget anytime soon.

You can talk about stats, roles, and depth charts all you want, but with Scott, it always comes back to one thing — the Giants.

For whatever reason, the man turned into an absolute menace every time he saw that uniform. It didn’t matter the year, the roster, or the situation. If the Eagles were playing the Giants, Boston Scott was finding the end zone. That’s how you earn a nickname like “Giant Killer,” and that’s how it sticks.

He wasn’t a full-time starter. He wasn’t putting up crazy season totals. But he showed up in big spots, including the Eagles’ Super Bowl run, and gave this team real production when it mattered.

And honestly, that’s more than a lot of guys can say.

Scott finished his career with over 1,200 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns, but numbers don’t really tell his story. His legacy is owning a division rival and becoming a cult hero in the process.

The Eagles have had bigger stars. They’ve had better players. But they haven’t had many like Boston Scott.

Certified Giant Killer. Forever an Eagles legend.
