Cam Young Sunday at the Masters

Cam Young believes everyone will be cheering against him on Sunday at Augusta National and hopefully he’s dead wrong

Cam Young told reporters he expects the patrons at Augusta National to be rooting against him today. That he will be walking into essentially a home game for Rory McIlroy. That he is preparing himself to have little fan support.

I love the mental framing. I just completely disagree with the premise.

Cam Young on fan support, Sunday at the Masters

America is cheering for Cam Young today which means I am cheering for Cam Young today. Every person I talked to watching this tournament is cheering for Cam Young today. Maybe it’s just mental warfare but if you’re actually rooting for Rory McIlroy today and call yourself an American, I would strongly urge you to reconsider.

Cam Young won people over at the Ryder Cup in New York and he has been winning people over all week at Augusta. He caught fire on Saturday when the tournament needed someone to catch fire, and now he is standing on the first tee on Masters Sunday tied for the lead against the defending champion.

Cameron Young erased a 6-shot lead on Moving Day and now Sunday at the Masters is now must watch television >>

Cam Young or Nothing.

The six-shot lead evaporated because one guy stopped playing well and another guy started playing the best golf of his life simultaneously. That is how leads disappear at Augusta and that is exactly what happened yesterday.

The leaderboard going into today is everything you could want for a Masters Sunday.

Cameron Young and Rory McIlroy in the final group at Augusta National. Both at 11-under. Scheffler lurking three back. Lowry and Burns one back. A leaderboard full of players who can win a major championship. No lead is safe at Augusta and Sunday is going to be exactly the kind of chaos this tournament was built for.

We have a golf tournament. A great one at that.

Cam Young starting his day thinking the crowd is against him just means he is going to play with a chip on his shoulder and that is exactly the mindset that got him here.
