Paul in Philly says the Flyers beat the Penguins like Mikey Miss beat his fiancee
After the Flyers took Game 1 in Pittsburgh on Saturday night, Jon Marks and Jason Myrtetus kept the party going on 97.5 The Fanatic with Flyers Final Shift, their postgame show that ran well past midnight on both the radio broadcast and YouTube.
Fans were calling in, the energy was high, and then a caller named “Paul in Philly” got through to the show and dropped the line of the night.
“I’ll tell you what, the Flyers beat those Penguins like Mikey Miss beatin’ his fiancee.”

The goal horn sound drop at the end is almost too perfect. Paul in Philly wasn’t wrong either. The Flyers beat the Penguins 3-2 at PPG Paints Arena to steal game one of the series. I guess you could say that they beat the Penguins just like Mikey Misdemeanor beat his fiancee, right?
It’s an inappropriate reference for sure but I understand it so I’ll allow it.

The Missanelli Situation
For those who need the context, earlier this month Mike Missanelli was reportedly booked on charges of simple assault and harassment for allegedly slapping his fiancee. Lower Merion PD arrived on the scene after someone dialed 911 and hung up, and a once great radio icon found himself in cuffs in the back of a police cruiser.
Missanelli told the arresting officers that he and his fiancee got into a “scuffle” over their engagement leading up to the incident. He posted $10,000 bail and his next court date, originally scheduled for this week, was pushed to June 24th according to public documents.
A police report was filed at the time. NBC 10’s Emily Rose Grassi reported that the responding officer observed what appeared to be fresh blood on his fiancee’s forehead, a laceration, and swelling on her ear.
Missanelli told police that his fiancee had hit him in the chest. His fiancee told police the couple had been arguing about their engagement when he open-hand slapped her on the left side of her face.
Apparently nothing is off limits when the Flyers win a playoff game. Paul in Philly is out there somewhere feeling like a legend right now and honestly, it’s hard to blame him.
