AJ Brown not expected to attend Eagles voluntary workouts, Adam Schefter fires off 3 Tweets before 8AM about potential trade

It’s NFL Draft week, and AJ Brown is still the only story anyone in NFL circles seems to care about. This morning, Adam Schefter fired off three tweets before 8 a.m., all but confirming Brown will be traded to New England after June 1.

On top of that, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported that AJ Brown won’t be attending the Eagles’ voluntary workouts this week while he waits for clarity on his future.

At this point, I don’t really care what happens anymore. I’m just sick and tired of the NFL media using Philadelphia to farm engagement.

The only reason this keeps getting pushed as hard as it is is because reporters know Philly fans will bite. Even if there is some validity to it, and as biased as I can be, even I can admit this feels like it’s heading toward a departure.

Skipping voluntary workouts does not automatically mean AJ Brown won’t be an Eagle come Week 1, but his attendance sure would calm the waters a bit. As much as I’ve banged the drum that this trade won’t happen, I already have ammo ready for when, or if, it does. That’s how you play the game, baby. Always be ready to turn on a dime. The commoners may not understand this, but as a tried and true Philly scumbag, I will turn on any player if it serves the long-term interests of my country, Philadelphia.

After everything that’s happened this offseason, the constant trade talk, the insider pushing it the hardest getting caught banging the head coach Brown supposedly wants to play for, Brown ending up in New England would be a brutal ending to all of this. Unless the situation is completely untenable, I’m begging Howie Roseman to send him anywhere else. I don’t even care what the return is. He just can’t end up in New England.
