CJ Gardner-Johnson goes on Tweeting spree about AJ Brown, says Philly turned on him

Even though CJ Gardner-Johnson is no longer a Philadelphia Eagle, he always seems to find his way back into the conversation. And right now, as we all know, the only thing anyone wants to talk about with the Birds is AJ Brown’s future.

If you’ve read any of my stuff, you already know where I stand. I want him here, and I think this situation is salvageable, no matter what the national media keeps trying to sell. CJGJ sees it differently, though. He claims the fanbase turned on AJ.

That couldn’t be further from the truth. Like with any fanbase, a few loud voices on Twitter rarely reflect the overall consensus. AJ Brown’s situation is a perfect example of that. Opinions are all over the place, no matter what 94WIP or Colin Cowherd want people to believe.

The bottom line with this whole thing is that no one really knows what the disconnect is except AJ Brown himself. Outside of Jalen Hurts, Howie Roseman, and Nick Sirianni, I don’t think anyone truly knows what’s going on. I’m sure CJ Gardner-Johnson has some idea, but probably not the full picture.

He’s right about one thing. Fans are assuming. We don’t know exactly what’s happening, and honestly, we probably never will. We’re all just trying to piece it together from the outside.

That doesn’t mean the frustration isn’t warranted. Of course it is. Since AJ Brown got to Philadelphia, Eagles fans have watched the best era of football this franchise has ever had. Two Super Bowl appearances. One Super Bowl win. Four straight playoff appearances. Three division titles. And somehow, even with all of that, it still wasn’t enough to keep AJ happy. He signed an extension in April 2024 that was supposed to keep him here through 2029. He said he wanted to retire an Eagle. Now this thing has turned into a nonstop national story.

It’s exhausting. And honestly, I still think a lot of it has been overblown, but I’ve been wrong before.

At the end of the day, the Eagles have to do what’s best for the team. It’s a business. Everybody knows that, including CJ Gardner-Johnson.
