Eagles sign Florida UDFA Trevon Grimes

Another UDFA WR is headed to Philadelphia. After signing Texas A&M wide receiver Jhamon Ausbon, the Eagles are bringing in Florida WR Trevon Grimes. Grimes has a connection to former Florida OC and current Eagles QB coach Brian Johnson. During his time with the Gators, he underperformed but has incredible athleticism to build on at the next level.
Grimes stands in at an impressive 6’4 and weighs 218 pounds. When he was recruited to Florida, Trevon clocked in an astonishing 4.47 40 time. The mixture of that incredible size alongside his deep threat ability makes Grimes a very low-risk, high-reward prospect for the Eagles.
During the 2020 season, Trevon had 589 yards receiving and nine touchdowns to go along with that. Florida fielded several physically imposing players on offense, including both Grimes and top draft selection Kyle Pitts. On the negative side, Grime’s route running is a work in progress, but this shouldn’t be much of an issue and can be coached on. This signing is fantastic for the Eagles and brings some much-needed size to the WR room.
