Eagles waive WR Trevon Grimes from injured reserve

Yesterday the Eagles came to terms with UDFA Trevon Grimes, waiving him from their injured reserve after reaching an injury settlement. Grimes underwent a precautionary knee surgery that landed him on the IR a few weeks ago following the acquisition of Michael Walker. Trevon will receive a portion of the $82,500 guaranteed money he received when signing with the Eagles as part of their deal.

Trevon Grimes had Eagles’ fans’ hopes up when he first signed, with many claiming him to be a steal for the raw talent he had. Despite that, it seems that Nick Sirianni and company determined they were better off with Walker or the open roster spot. Philadelphia has now moved on from two of their undrafted free agents after waiving quarterback Jamie Newman a few weeks ago. Now only five UDFAs remain on the Eagles roster, with OTAs still ongoing.
