Flyers release 2021-2022 preseason schedule

Even though the Flyers offseason is just getting started, the team has just announced their preseason schedule for the upcoming season. Philadelphia will begin the 2021-2022 season on September 28th, hosting the New York Islanders in the first of six preseason games.
The six matchups include the Islanders, Boston Bruins, and Washington Capitals. Philadelphia will play each team once at home and on the road, finishing up their preseason on October 8th against the Capitals. Currently, the NHL is planning for an 82 game season, an increase from the 56 game season this past year. Opening night is slated for October 12th.
These last few weeks have been hectic for Philly. From acquiring stud defensemen Ryan Ellis to the expansion draft kicking off tomorrow, there are many moving pieces for Chuck Fletcher. Seattle is likely to take Jakub Voracek, James van Riemsdyk, or Shayne Gostisbehere.
