DeVonta Smith listed as week-to-week with knee sprain

After practicing through an injury a few days ago, the Eagles have announced that rookie wideout DeVonta Smith is now listed as week-to-week with a knee sprain. There has been no concern about this being a major injury, and hopefully, he will be able to return shortly.

The Eagles’ wide receivers have been suffering numerous setbacks to start training camp. Jalen Reagor, Travis Fulgham, JJ Arcega-Whitside, Greg Ward, Quez Watkins, and now DeVonta Smith have all missed time during the first week. While none of these injuries look to be serious, it is still significant to the team. Nick Sirianni needs as many reps to install his new offense as possible and for Jalen Hurts to gain chemistry with his wideouts.

Philly’s receivers aren’t the only ones dealing with injuries early on. Brandon Brooks, Isaac Seumalo, Alex Singleton, and now Ryan Kerrigan have all missed time due to injuries or COVID-19. The Eagles play their first preseason game in just over a week on August 12th against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Update: Per Adam Schefter, DeVonta Smith is expected to miss two to three weeks with a sprained MCL, per sources. Smith underwent an MRI on Sunday that revealed the injury.
