Landon Dickerson to wear powerful number 69. Nice.

Eagles offensive lineman and second-round draft pick Landon Dickerson announced he will wear number 69 as a pro. While the rookie has been recovering from an ACL tear last year, he’s been able to make it back on the practice field for camp.
Sure, the kid has turned heads with his immense size and refined playstyle, but he was doing in random, shitty jersey numbers. Now, he’s suited and booted with the correct number for a man of his stature. I mean, just look at this hoss.

Landon Dickerson showed up to his first day of training camp decked out in some denim overalls with no shirt. Who else should be wearing number 69? I can’t think of anybody else on the 53-man roster that’s more worthy of the honor than Yung Lando.
It’s been too long since this city had a stalwart on the O-Line rocking 69. I know Matt Pryor was wearing it previously, but you have to go back to Jon Runyan to find a stud lineman that wore those deified double-digits.
To put it in perspective, Jon Runyan’s son is in the NFL now. AND he’s older than me. So, yeah, it’s been a minute since we’ve had a rock-solid 69 patrolling the trenches.
Plus, if Landon were to emulate any player in Eagles history, Jon Runyan wouldn’t be a wrong choice whatsoever.
I don’t want to heap too many expectations onto Landon Dickerson, especially seeing as he’ll most likely be a second-stringer if all goes according to plan. However, the number 69 is a heavy burden to bear.
Landon Dickerson has a moral weight to shoulder, which doesn’t include the excessive fabric stitched onto the jersey to create the 69 (thus adding extra ounces). Fans will buy his shirsey immediately. I’m sure thousands already have. I’m literally going to do that right after I submit this blog.
He’ll be a big morale guy on the bench as well. If the guy in his mid-twenties who gets paid a few million bucks to wear the number 69 on every item of clothing he has isn’t having a good time, how can the rest of the team?
Good luck Landon. With a hilarious number comes great responsibility. Wear 69 well.
Hehe… nice.
[…] After an in-depth analysis of the situation, I say this was an honorable move. Sure, it is a bit deranged, but we’re Eagles fans. To call getting this tattoo deranged would be a disservice to all the literal psychos we have in this fan base (both inside and outside the city limits, NAT). […]
