76ers partner with Crypto.com to be their new uniform sponsor

After moving on from StubHub, the Philadelphia 76ers have announced Crypto.com as their new uniform sponsor for 2021. As part of their deal, the 76ers will launch their first NFTs alongside their City Uniforms for the upcoming season. There was no elaboration here, but it likely means the City Uniforms will be revealed through a Crypto.com NFT.
Crypto has partnered with numerous sports teams worldwide, including soccer giant Paris Saint-Germain and the Montreal Canadiens. Alongside specific teams, they also have deals with F1, the UFC, and Serie A.
The deal with the Sixers is reportedly worth over $10 million annually, one of the most expensive in the league. 76ers President of Basketball Operations Daryl Morey is a massive fan of NFTs, so it’s likely he was a driving force behind this sponsor.Â
Design-wise, the sponsor patch is as clean as one can get. The blue and white design fits seamlessly on the jersey like StubHub did and doesn’t stick out like some of the league’s other sponsors. Based on their photoshops, the primary color of the ad will match whatever color uniform the team is wearing.Â
