Rumor: Eagles could trade Zach Ertz or Dallas Goedert this week

A bombshell right before the Eagles’ matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. According to Jay Glazer, it seems like there could be a chance one of the Eagles’ tight ends is on the move. During FOX’s pre-game show, Glazer said that he would not be surprised if one of Dallas Goedert or Zach Ertz is traded this week.
Glazer also said that the Eagles have already received trade calls about the two tight ends, with ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler stating that both the Buffalo Bills and Indianapolis Colts remain interested in Ertz. Back in September, rumors circulated that the Minnesota Vikings could be interested in Goedert.
Neither of the two tight ends has had a successful 2021 season, but that is credited mainly to their lack of targets. One of the more significant controversies to start this season was the stalled discussions in an extension between Philadelphia and Goedert. Their unwillingness to pay Goedert what he’s worth could be the reason a trade might occur. The timeline of this week is what is shocking since the NFL’s trade deadline isn’t until November 2nd.
Goedert is out tonight against the Buccaneers due to COVID-19, with Ertz having a chance to shine as the Eagles’ primary TE. Based on how Howie Roseman dealt with offers on Ertz this offseason, it’s doubtful Philly moves on from him unless it’s a good haul.
