Disrespectful: Stop calling Paul Reed, Patrick Reed

The disrespect. Last night, the 76ers were the nationally televised game on TNT, as they hosted the Milwaukee Bucks in South Philadelphia. To say the broadcast crew was terrible would be an understatement. Outside of Charles Barkley saying that the 76ers should start kicking Ben Simmons’ ass, the entire production was riddled with mistakes.
A Few of the Blatant Mistakes Last Night:
- Shake Middleton.
- Reggie Miller saying Georges Niang’s nickname was Humpty Van
- Both teams were “shorthanded”
- Barkley stating that Matisse Thybulle needs to step up at halftime.
The list goes on and on. The most disrespectful, which continued even after the game, was Reggie Miller calling Paul Reed, Patrick Reed. You serious bro?
The mistake continued this morning with the NBA posting a video of their Top 5 plays from last night.
It was good to see Paul Reed take it as disrespect as well, tweeting “Who tf is Patrick” in response to the NBA video.
I get that these national broadcast people are running through teams every night but asking them to come prepared for their job isn’t out of line, in fact it is literally the bare minimum. I get that Joel Embiid is out and the Ben Simmons conversation is pretty stale at this point.
To go along with the block above, Paul Reed held Giannis to 4-of-11 shooting last night. He was literally a starter for the 76ers and finished with 6 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. Screwing up his name last night and then again in new videos literally from the NBA account today can’t happen.
There needs to be an effort. If there was one mistake, I would understand. Hell, we make a lot of them on The Liberty Line but this is just lazy production and flat out embarrassing. Get your shit together, Reggie.
The 76ers have the night off and will wrap up a three game home stand tomorrow night against the Toronto Raptors.
[…] I’m not surprised. The national broadcast against the Bucks was a complete disaster. They were calling Paul Reed, “Patrick Reed” and Shake Milton, “Shake Middleton.… The next morning, it went a step further with the NBA Twitter account continuing to call Paul Reed, […]
