I have been pretty clear about my dislike for a certain radio station here in Philadelphia. Yes, it’s WIP Sports Talk Radio. Great guess. However, sometimes there’s a clip that gets dropped that’s pretty funny. No thanks to the actual WIP Morning Show, but rather a caller to the show. How anyone would listen and/or call in to speak with Angelo Cataldi and the rest of the WIP Morning Show is beyond me, but apparently, this guy got in a car accident and then still hung on the phone so he had his chance to share his dislike of Ben Simmons.

Take a listen:

WIP: “What’s on your mind?”

CALLER: “Uh, nothing, someone just hit my car,”

The WIP people encouraged him to call the cops while the caller explained that someone had just “swerved into his lane.”

CALLER: “Anyway, I’m calling about Ben Simmons,”

WIP: “You just got in a car accident and you’re calling about Ben Simmons?”

CALLER: “Yeah because he annoys me more than someone hitting my car and driving off.”

Anything seem weird about this? There’s no way this actually happened, right? I understand that people are upset about Ben Simmons but we can’t have car accidents happening on the road and then people prioritizing talking to a bunch of old, angry, radio hosts rather than handling what’s happening in front of them. I would personally never want to talk to anyone at WIP, let alone get in an accident while on the phone with them.

If this caller actually did get in an accident and had to step away from the scene to tell Angelo how much he hates Ben Simmons, we have major issues and have reached a new level of Ben Simmons Derangement Syndrome.

Simmons should be an after thought. That train has run it’s course and it is time we look ahead. If he comes back to play, okay great. If not, there’s literally nothing else he can do to hurt this fanbase and city anymore.

And please, for the love of God, stop calling Angelo and the WIP Morning Show.
