Darius Slay wins award; Eagles activate practice window for Miles Sanders

The NFL announced their weekly awards on Wednesday, naming Eagles cornerback Darius Slay the NFC Defensive Player of the Week.
On the final play of the 3rd quarter vs. Denver, Slay recovered a Melvin Gordon fumble and returned it 83 yards for a TD. He also recorded five tackles on the day (one for a loss) and only allowed one reception for -2 yards.
This was Slay’s second fumble recovery for a score this season and 4th time winning the award, first time with Philadelphia. Not bad for a washed-up corner.

In other news, the team has also designated Miles Sanders for return from IR. He’ll be able to practice this week and can be activated at any point over the next 21 days.
