Jordan Mailata calls Landon Dickerson a “very athletic fridge”

Earlier today, Jordan Mailata talked with the media ahead of the Eagles’ game this Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. When discussing rookie guard Landon Dickerson, Mailata might have had the quote of the year, calling him a “very athletic fridge.”
An athletic fridge is quite the fitting description for the 6’6 325-pound rookie. His frame is massive while also possessing the nimbleness of an Olympian gymnast. That comparison might be a bit of a stretch, but I don’t know any other linemen who can do a cartwheel like this.
Compared to the rest of the starting offensive line, only Jordan Mailata weighs more than the former Alabama center. The heavy weight doesn’t often show, looking very quick on his feet when blocking in open-field.
Dickerson has lived up to the expectations, having improved with each passing week for the Eagles. According to PFF, Landon Dickerson is the third-best rookie guard, behind only Alijah Vera-Tucker and Trey Smith. Dickerson has also only allowed two sacks over 326 pass attempts, the second-fewest of any rookie guard.
Having proven himself at left guard, Landon Dickerson has proven he can play both guard spots alongside center, allowing for flexibility for changes to be made next season. Philadelphia’s offensive line has been excellent this season, and it’ll be exciting to see how they are when Brandon Brooks returns.
