Eagles sign T.J. Edwards to one-year contract extension

Less than 24 hours removed from a huge showing against the New Orleans Saints, the Eagles have signed T.J. Edwards to a one-year contract extension through 2022. Edwards has been tremendous as the new LB1 for Philadelphia, and it looks like he will hold the spot for next season.

Edwards was going to be an RFA this offseason, so he likely wasn’t going anywhere, but it’s official now. The one-year deal is worth $3.2 million with $2 million fully guaranteed. An absolute steal for the level of play Edwards has brought over the last few games.

Against the Saints, T.J. Edwards had a huge interception alongside seven solo tackles, two pass deflections, and a tackle for loss. Howie Roseman has made a point to lock up all of his critical free agents this offseason, signing Dallas Goedert and Avonte Maddox over the last few days.
