Eagles place Davion Taylor on injured reserve with knee sprain

After being a likely decision earlier this week, the Eagles have officially placed linebacker Davion Taylor on injured reserve, ruling him out for the next three weeks. Nick Sirianni said that Taylor was dealing with a knee sprain and left Sunday’s game against New Orleans early. Philadelphia also signed linebacker Christian Eliss to the practice squad.
Luckily, the Eagles are entering the easier stretch of their season, playing the Giants and Jets before heading into the bye week in Week 14. Jonathan Gannon went to Alex Singleton in Davion Taylor’s absence, who didn’t play horribly against Trevor Siemian.
It will benefit the Eagles best to run the most blitzes they have this whole season on Sunday. Alex Singleton is at his best when blitzing and is a liability in coverage. Force Daniel Jones to make quick decisions and force mistakes instead of letting him gain confidence.
For the other injured players, Darius Slay is in concussion protocol, Jordan Howard is also likely out this week with a knee sprain, and Shaun Bradley is dealing with a shoulder sprain but shouldn’t be out.
Update:
Per Nick Sirianni, Davion Taylor underwent knee surgery and could return later this season. A brutal blow to the Eagles’ defense.
