Joel Embiid carries 76ers to win over the COVID Hornets

The Sixers took the COVID Hornets to overtime, and won by a bucket after an excruciatingly ugly game, by a score of 127-124.
Shoutout to myself for crowning Joel the Sixer of the Week, because he showed it tonight. With 43 points, 15 rebounds, and seven assists he literally carried Philadelphia to a win. He was incredibly efficient, going 15/20 from the field and proving that he is once again one of the most dominant players in the league.
All game, even clutch moments, Embiid showed up and gave this team the best chance to win and through his 40 minutes of play he made his mark on this one, and it’s worrisome to see how this team relies so heavily on him, but it was wonderful to see him at this level again.
Tobias Harris was able to contribute in this game, but he wasn’t as impressive in his efficiency as we are used to in this game. From the floor, he went 7/18, and only ⅖ from deep, but he was still able to put up 21 points.
The Sixers missed Tyrese Maxey which is strange to say, but his presence was sourly missed on multiple occasions.
Shake Milton took the place of Maxey in the starting lineup and actually produced decently. With 16 points and an impressive four made three-pointers, Milton is in the middle of a great stretch and hopefully points to a good future for him off the bench.
This was a necessary win, but an ugly one at best. The best part about this game is that it’s over. Philadelphia is fighting through an identity crisis, and the only thing they have going for them is that Joel Embiid is the best center in the league.
These two teams face off again on Wednesday, and with Maxey returning to the lineup we will hopefully see another win.
EMBIID TIES THE GAME!
