Eagles place 4 players on Reserve/COVID-19 list

More players have been added to the COVID-19 list just one day after the Eagles’ 34-10 victory against the Giants. The Eagles announced that Derek Barnett, Tarron Jackson, Andre Chachere, and Noah Togiai were placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list.

These four players join Andre Dillard, Ryan Kerrigan, and Le’Raven Clark in protocols. Since they tested positive so early in the week, it’s likely that most, if not all of these players, could return by Sunday.

The NFL changed protocols regarding vaccinated players following the Omicron outbreak. Following the change, teams have yet to be significantly hurt by the new variant, thanks to the short return times.

For example, Nick Sirianni tested positive on Wednesday and was cleared by Saturday, which gives hope for all of these players to be active. If they don’t test out of protocols, the Eagles should still be fine regardless.

Jackson and Chachere have potential but are just rotational players at best this season. Losing Barnett will hurt, but they should still be able to send enough pressure between Fletcher Cox, Javon Hargrave, and Josh Sweat.

For the rest of the team, Miles Sanders is out this Sunday, while Nate Herbig and K’Von Wallace are expected to be active. We will have a better idea later this week as the injury reports are released.
