Report: 2 former Eagles assistants land prominent roles in Jacksonville and New York

As Doug Pederson continues to assemble his staff in Jacksonville, he will be bringing back another familiar face. Former Eagles QB coach Press Taylor has been hired as the Jaguars’ next offensive coordinator.
Taylor had been with the Eagles since 2013 but left to join the Colts this past season after Pederson’s departure. Eagles fans best know Taylor for being buddy-buddy with Carson Wents during his tenure here, with many pointing the blame at him for causing the former QB’s downfall.
After the 2020 season, one of the primary reasons the Eagles let go of Pederson was his underwhelming choices for his staff in 2021, which included promoting Taylor to offensive coordinator. One year later, Dougie P has gotten his wish in Jacksonville.
The 34-year-old will now be in charge of helping to develop Trevor Lawrence alongside another former Philadelphia assistant, Jim Bob Cooter.
Another one of Peterson’s assistants, Mike Groh, has found himself a new home in the NFC East. Groh was Philadelphia’s offensive coordinator from 2018 through 2019 and will be the Giants’ next wide receiver coach. Groh was the Eagles’ WR coach in 2017 and held that role in Indianapolis with Frank Reich this past season.
