Report: Eagles placed a trade offer for Russell Wilson, QB refused to waive no-trade clause

The Eagles have been at the heart of QB rumors ever since the departure of Carson Wentz.
Heading into last season, second-year quarterback Jalen Hurts was named the starter and given the season to prove that he could be the long-term answer. Yet, one year later, questions still loom about his true potential as a passer.
Due to these concerns, rumors continued to circulate about what GM Howie Roseman would do at the position. Perhaps he takes a swing at disgruntled QBs Aaron Rodgers and Russell Wilson. Maybe he’ll get to the bottom of the Deshaun Watson saga. As of Tuesday, two of those quarterbacks are off the market.
Green Bay was able to convince Rodgers to return for another year while Wilson ran off to Denver. That isn’t to say that the Eagles didn’t try, however.
Broncos Insider Benjamin Allbright recently spoke with Jake Heaps of Seattle Sports Radio 710, and Heaps confirmed that Philadelphia and Washington both submitted offers for Wilson. Still, he wouldn’t waive his no-trade clause:

On top of that, the Seahawks were adamant about getting the nine-time Pro Bowler out of the NFC.
Seattle and Wilson eventually agreed on a deal with the Broncos in exchange for five total draft picks and three players. One can only wonder what the Eagles’ trade package consisted of.
For now, it seems as though Jalen Hurts is primed to lead Philly for at least another season, which is probably the best option for the franchise right now.

Says that nothing has changed with their commitment and how the team feels about Jalen.
