Adam Schefter shuts down Deshaun Watson-Eagles rumors

Trade rumors surrounding Deshaun Watson situation have intensified over the past few days and the current Texans quarterback is now visiting different teams to see if he would be willing to waive his no-trade clause to play somewhere else during the 2022 season.
Alongside the favorites like the Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints, some other teams have entered the mix, including the Cleveland Browns and Atlanta Falcons. Some have tried to continue to push the narrative that the Eagles are still interested, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

“No reason to check-in. Nothing to see here. We can move on.”
“I don’t see a QB out there that gives them a much better chance to win this season than Jalen Hurts. It’s tracking for Jalen Hurts to be the QB of the team this season”.
A decision seems to be coming in the next few days, and it’s best that the Eagles aren’t involved. Watson would be a killer to the Eagles’ locker room chemistry, and his price tag isn’t worth it. Philadelphia has other big holes they can fill with their three first-round picks, and also already have limited cap space.
Another interesting note from Schefter was that the Eagles were in the mix for safety Marcus Williams, who signed a five-year, $70 million deal with the Baltimore Ravens.
“They made calls on (safety) Marcus Williams, but it didn’t work out. I don’t know if the honey badger fits the profile of what they look for. And so now you’re looking at other options & the draft.”
The Eagles only have a few million remaining in cap space, but with Rodney McLeod and Anthony Harris currently free agents, there is likely some signing on the horizon.
