Fake Darius Slay fooled Betsy Ross House staff, made it on Twitter

Today Philadelphia’s iconic Betsy Ross House welcomed Eagles CB Darius Slay to learn more about the history of the first American flag. Or, at least, a guy the staff thought looks just like him.
Unfortunately, it’s most definitely the latter. In a now-deleted tweet, Betsy Ross House shared how excited they were to meet one of the best players on the Eagles.
All it takes is a glance to see that it is clearly not Big Play Slay:

Whoopsies.
Look, I’m not here to crucify the staff at Betsy Ross House. Those folks made my elementary school field trips incredibly memorable.
However… this is a rough look, no way around it. I’m be inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt, but I can’t say the same for others.
The one thing I can’t wrap my head around is how this happened. This isn’t like a photo snapped in passing by your parents on vacation saying they met someone nice at their hotel, and it turns out to be Waka Flocka Flame.
They had to have spent a decent amount of time together and chatted. I just can’t see a scenario where the people at Betsy Ross House assumed the guy was Darius Slay, said nothing, and then posted this. That’d certainly be the worst-case scenario because even I can’t make up an excuse for that.
Now, if he went in, claimed to be Darius Slay, posed for a picture, made it on Twitter, and got away with it, that’s possibly one of the low-key funniest things to happen in 2022. Maybe a little unfair to the staff, but you have to tip your cap if he actually did that.
My friend, if you’re out there and did this as a prank, shoot me a DM. Would love to have you on the podcast and go through your creative process.
