Eagles projected to have one of the NFL’s easiest schedules in 2022
Once again, the Philadelphia Eagles are expected to have one of the easiest schedules in the NFL next season. Sharp Football Analysis released their strength of schedule rankings based on each team’s opponents’ combined win totals.
The Eagles have the third easiest strength of schedule, behind the Chicago Bears and Washington Commanders. Here’s a look at the full rankings.
Usually, schedule predictions this far out aren’t accurate, with a lot of things still in motion before the season begins. However, Sharp accurately predicted six of the seven teams with the easiest schedules last season.
The Eagles were projected to have an easy schedule this far out last season, and it remained true for the duration of the year. One of the main reasons for this is just how weak the NFC East is, with all four teams ranking in the top eight.
Even with how easy last year was, this season is expected to be less challenging, with the Eagles’ SOS ranking 5th in 2021.
Philadelphia’s schedule next season includes the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Houston Texans, and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Hopefully, things will continue as they have, leading to a second straight postseason appearance for Nick Sirianni and company.
