Report: Eagles showing interest in veteran receiver/return specialist

The Eagles may not be done adding players ahead of the NFL Draft.
Per NFL Insider Adam Caplan on the latest Inside the Birds podcast, the Eagles are interested in veteran return man Andre Roberts.

Roberts, 34, joined the Chargers halfway through the 2021 season and averaged 32.8 yards per kick return, highlighted by a 101-yard kick-return touchdown in Week 17. Despite Roberts earning Second-Team All-Pro honors, the Chargers opted to get younger at the position and signed return specialist DeAndre Carter this offseason.
Special teams has been one of the more troublesome units for Philadephia since the retirement of Darren Sproles. The Eagles recorded a kick-return average of just 18.5 yards last season, and Jalen Reagor has been nothing short of disastrous on return duty.
Josh Huff was the last Eagle to return a kickoff for a touchdown back in 2016. Even though Roberts would provide no offensive production whatsoever, he could be the sparkplug on special teams that Philadelphia hasn’t had in quite some time.
