Jason Kelce has high praise for Eagles’ second round pick Cam Jurgens

Jason Kelce was live once again during the second night of the 2022 NFL Draft with Adam Lefkoe.
During their conversation, the camera once again caught Kelce’s reaction to what is expected to be his successor on the offensive line, Nebraska center Cam Jurgens. To nobody’s surprise, Kelce took it quite well, revealing that he knew this was going to be tonight’s pick ahead of time.
“I knew we were taking him. This is my favorite player in the NFL Draft. The Eagles have been using me to evaluate some of the centers coming out. And out of all the guys that I’ve looked at for the past two-three years. Out of all the guys I’d compare most to myself, this guy is him.”
Standing at 6’3 and weighing 290 pounds, Jurgens is a physically imposing player who is known best for his zone-blocking ability. Like Kelce, he is elite at getting to the second-level and destroying linebackers, playing hard to the whistle on every down.
One issue is Jurgen’s low weight, but Jeff Stoutland has shown to fix that with rookies on numerous instances, so it’s no cause for concern.
Getting someone personally picked by Kelce to take over for him in the near future is reassuring for Eagles fans. Between Jordan Mailata, Landon Dickerson, and Jurgens, the young core of this Eagles’ O-Line is looking good.
