Jordan Davis sings impressive Rick James rendition to kick off 2022 Eagles camp

Eagles training camp is officially underway, and rookie Jordan Davis has impressed teammates and reporters with his performances in practice. However, the first-round draft pick also showed off his singing ability in a team meeting this week.

While rookies singing for the team is meant to be a funny, somewhat embarrassing tradition in NFL training camps, this performance was anything but a joke. It sure as hell wasn’t embarrassing, either.

As far as I’m concerned, Davis booked himself a trip to Hollywood for the next round of American Idol. He truly has it all. The voice is there, and you can feel his emotions in the music. His stage presence is also unrivaled. Granted, that may be because he takes up 50% of the stage at any given time, but my point stands regardless.

I’ve been a big fan of Davis since he was at Georgia, which pretty much everyone else was too, and I was thrilled when we picked him 13th overall. He’s a great addition to both the roster and the locker room, and it really shines through in this video.

Not to be outdone, Davis’ former Georgia teammate and fellow rookie Nakobe Dean also got in on the action. Sure, his vocals didn’t quite reach the same heights, but he made up for it with his high energy and quality dance moves.

The effort put forth proves Dean will also be a great fit in Philly. We don’t care about how talented you are, just that you leave it all on the field (or stage in this case).

Though it certainly helps that these two are really, really good.
