Watch: Yankees fan creating a glizzy straw is the next step in ballpark concession innovation

Hot dog innovation continues to expand across Major League Baseball ballparks and earlier this week, we were introduced to glizzy straws.
Look, this isn’t one of those dumb posts about the debate over if a hot dog is a sandwich. It’s not. However, it’s been one hell of a summer for hot dogs, now commonly known as glizzys. I’m not even sure where glizzy started. As far as I know, it popped up out of no where a few years ago and continues to grow into a social media trend that doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon.
Fine. Whatever. Roll the footage.
First, you have the casual glizzy dump into an ice cold beer.
Then, you have the next level move shown in the video below. Earlier this week, there was a Yankees fan that took a hot dog, put a straw through the center of it, and used it like a straw to drink his beer.
Introducing: The Glizzy Straw
Of course this happened during a subway series between the New York Yankees and New York Mets. These animals in NYC have no bounds and when you put two of the lamest fan bases together, weird shit is bound to happen.
I’m not really into either move, but to each their own. I’m also not going to completely rip either dude for innovating your standard ball park concessions. We call them trailblazers for a reason, even if they are scum of the earth New York sports fans.
These food sickos aren’t bothering anyone. The guy above was minding his own business and got caught on a hot camera. If you’re not bothering anyone then it’s really hard for me to take a stand against what you’re doing.
I much rather discuss the dude getting blown in broad daylight during an Oakland Athletics game over the weekend or the fact that the “Shoe Beer” at baseball games is far more disgusting than anything we have seen in this post, but the hot dog stories just keep coming and it’s my duty to provide our readers with fair and balanced coverage across the sports world which is why we are here.
Luckily, we can leave it up to the national media to kill any somewhat interesting social media trend. The MLB on TBS then made a whole entire segment on glizzy straws, which basically killed the entire trend once and for all.

Side Note: Who poured those beers? They look like they have been sitting there for hours, if not days. Is that apple juice? What’s going on here?
It’s like when you and your friends were doing something cool in high school and then parents wanted to get involved and completely ruined it. All of the sudden, it was the opposite of cool and it was time to find something else to do instead.
I’m excited to find out what happens next.
The Philadelphia Phillies have one more Dollar Dog Night on the schedule in September, so unfortunately, we have about a month left of glizzy straws before we truly see the end of it.
