Preview: Phillies look to complete another sweep, Noah Syndergaard on the mound at 1:35

The Philadelphia Phillies take the field today at 1:35 EST looking to complete the 3-game sweep of the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The Phillies are 50-26 under Rob Thomson. That’s a 106-win pace over a full season.

Noah Syndergaard (8-8, 3.77 ERA) takes the ball for his fifth start with the Phillies going up against Roansy Contreras (3-4, 3.86 ERA).

The Fightins won their 6th consecutive game last night, thanks to an early 3-run, bases-clearing double from JT Realmuto that moved the score to 3-0 in the bottom of the 1st. Nick Castellanos would homer in the game as well, who is now hitting .333/.333/.600 over the last 7 days with ten hits, two doubles, two homers, and 5 RBIs.

The 6-7-8-9 hitters in the Phillies' batting order have combined to hit .268 the last 33 games, 3rd-best in the majors.

They've scored 63 runs which is 5th-most. Turning that lineup over.

A win today would be the 5th sweep for the Phillies in their last 12 series, something that we haven’t seen from this team in a very long time. The whole lineup is contributing, all pitchers are dealing, and although the bullpen is injured at the moment, the guys that are remaining are still holding it down.
