Cowboys owner Jerry Jones continued his march to senility with an odd answer on the radio

Cowboys owner and newly elected town fool Jerry Jones is losing his mind. He recently reminded us of this during a radio appearance less than a week before the NFL season kicks off.
When asked about his seemingly eternal optimism, Jones’ said the following
“Well, let me just address the first way you stated the question without any issue on it. I have to believe 1 and 1 is 3. I can’t operate where 1 and 1 is 2. We all know it is, physically, but the 3 is where you have to go. Now you have to have optimism to operate out in that world, and commit, and do things when you’ve got to count on 1 and 1 being 3. I’m not trying to play games, but that’s where the biggest payoffs are, is out there. It’s there for everybody to grab, if 1 and 1 is 2. So here you go.”
Jerry Jones
…

No, seriously. What the fuck is he talking about?
I’m all for positivity, and when you’re one of the least successful franchises of the 21st Century, you need all the positivity you can get. Though I guess it’s easy to be positive when you have as many functioning brain cells as playoff wins in that span (3).
While his deteriorating mental state allows him to exist in never-ending bliss, imagine how Cowboys fans feel after hearing him ramble about numbers. Most of them can’t count (especially the ones from Philly), so the mathematic ramblings of the senile billionaire that owns their football team can’t be confidence-inspiring.

I love ragging on Jerruh Jones, but this almost feels mean. His casual relationship with reality is more strained than ever, I fear.
Sure, as an Eagles fan, I sleep easier at night knowing the once-sharp Jones has been reduced to a bumbling mess. But as a human being? It gnaws at me inside.
Hopefully, Jeffrey Lurie will know when the time has come to let his son take over. Until then, we can rest assured he won’t be making any deranged radio appearances soon.
