Rumor: Phillies to be “eager suitors” for this star shortstop this upcoming offseason

As the Phillies gear up to break their 10-year playoff drought in under a month, reports are already starting to circle in regards to the upcoming MLB offseason.
According to Peter Abraham of The Boston Globe, “If the Boston Red Sox let Xander Bogaerts get to the open market, the Phillies will be eager suitors.”
The Phillies have many decisions to make in the upcoming offseason, as they have multiple players coming off the books, including Jean Segura, Kyle Gibson, Zach Eflin, and Noah Syndergaard. The team will also need to pay Rhys Hoskins, although that should be a no-brainer at this point after the season Hoskins has had.
A star shortstop has been in the works for a while, as multiple past reports have had the Phillies linked to star shortstops Trea Turner, Xander Bogaerts, and Dansby Swanson.
BetMGM: Bet $5, Win $200
Bet $10 and win $200 if any NFL or College Team Scores a Touchdown. Yes, it’s that easy.
Bogaerts, 29, is having a fantastic season for a struggling Red Sox team, slashing .319/.387/.473 in 133 games. He’s hit 13 HRs and knocked in 66 RBIs while holding an OPS+ of 138, which is tied for the highest of his career. Xander is a career 4x All-Star, 2x World Series Champion, and 4x Silver Slugger, spending all 10 years of his career in Boston.
Pairing Bogaerts’ bat and defense with Bryson Stott at 2nd base in his second year would be an elite duo, as Stott is finally starting to find consistency. His defense has been great, his strikeout numbers have been down, and he’s hitting over .300 since the beginning of August. Bogaerts would not only be a great addition to the field and lineup but would be a great mentor for Stott in the middle of the infield.
