MLB Network’s Greg Amsinger predicted Albert Pujols’ 700th home run, opponent, series, and location back in APRIL

Albert Pujols hit the 699th and 700th home runs of his career last night in an 11-0 win over his former team, the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The home runs came in consecutive at-bats for Pujols, who will now join an elite club of Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, and Barry Bonds as the only players in the history of Major League Baseball to reach to the 700-homer milestone.
Albert Pujols 700th Home Run
The internet went absolutely insane of the feat, which is obviously great to see, mainly because I personally didn’t think that people really cared that much about baseball these days.
Luckily and rightfully so, Pujols got his praise.
Greg Amsinger, who might be a robot, is the lead guy on MLB Network, running 12+ hours of live programming like an absolute menace throughout the baseball season, pretty much nailed his Pujols prediction way back on April 13th.
MLB Network Prediction in April

“Albert Pujols is going to hit his 700th career home run on the road. Friday night in Los Angeles in September”
To recap, Greg Amsinger predicted the following on MLB Network in April
- Pujols to hit 700 Home Runs
- On a Friday Night
- Against the Dodgers
- In Los Angeles
To be clear, the Cards only have three games against the Dodgers on the Calendar this month and just eight total games left after they play the next to in Los Angeles. Pujols has hit 6 home runs this month and hit 8 home runs in August. That’s 14 of his 21 home runs on the season over the final two months of the season.
Making that type of prediction in the month of April, when Albert only had two home runs is insane.
Phillies vs Cardinals in Wild Card Series?
With just 12 games remaining in the regular season, the Phillies magic number to break a decade-long playoff drought now sits at 9 games. The Phillies are in the midst of a three-team battle for the second and third National League Wild Card spots.
With last night’s win, guided by none other than Aaron Nola and Rhys Hoskins, they now hold a half-game lead on the San Diego Padres for the second Wild Card spot, and lead the Brewers by 2.5 games.

If the Fightins can hold onto the second Wild Card spot, they’ll face the Braves in Atlanta in the first round of the playoffs. If they fall to third place, they’ll travel to St. Louis to face Albert Pujols and the Cardinals.
The Hunt for Red October Continues.
