Philadelphia Union’s Andre Blake, Jakob Glesnes take home league honors ahead of the MLS Playoffs
Philadelphia Union keeper Andre Blake has been awarded with his third career Allstate Goalkeeper of the Year Award, while Jakob Glesnes has been given the MLS Defender of the Year honor.
Andre Blake won this award for the first time back in 2016 and took it home more recently in 2020. Blake was the backbone for the Union in 2022, racking up 15 shutouts just this season. Blake, the Union’s longest-tenured player, saved just shy of 80% of all shots on goal this season.

Jakob Glesnes
Jakob Glesnes took home the MLS Defender of the Year award after leading the team in interceptions in 2022. Glesnes started all 34 matches this season while providing three crucial assists throughout the season as well.
